There was a time in construction history – not that long ago – when the only connection between the field and the office consisted of the nearest pay phone. Then came remote offices complete with Internet connectivity and mobile phones. Now, as mobile phones are becoming smarter, wireless networks improve, and data plans more affordable, contractors have the ability to become connected more than ever before. As a result, software developers are providing construction-specific mobile applications to handle a number of tasks, such as time card entry, punch lists and even basic cost estimating.
