It is a time when change seems easier, at least for the first week or two. Then we sink back into our normal routines and somehow the day-to-day operations start taking over again. We have the best intentions to do things differently, but we quickly find our time is devoted to operational activities, such as filling backlog or keeping up with immediate project changes and pressing issues, rather than on setting direction and defining strategic goals to keep key changes on track.
