Matt Welch is an associate in FMI's Investment Banking practice. Matt works with construction, engineering and industrial focused firms, providing mergers and acquisitions, business valuations and ownership transfer advisory services. Matt has an extensive background in finance, accounting and operations.

Prior to joining FMI, Matt was an associate with Ridgecrest Capital Partners, a San Francisco -based boutique investment bank focused on merger and acquisitions, capital raising and financial restructuring advisory for leading technology and other growth companies.

Previously, Matt was a member of Wachovia Securities' Financial Institutions group, where he advised on buy-side and sell-side mergers & acquisitions as well as equity and debt offerings. Matt also spent several years at Duke Energy, first as a nuclear fuel engineer where he led nuclear fuel and core component design project teams, and later as a business analyst. In this role, Matt developed and implemented financial analysis models to forecast future uranium market conditions and mitigate company exposure to price fluctuations.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University, graduating from both institutions with honors.
