Steve Pavlik is a senior associate with FMI's Investment Banking practice. He brings with him a wide range of experience on issues dealing with ownership transfer, management succession, leadership development and other relevant issues facing contractors and their clients.

Prior to joining FMI, Steve was the president and CEO of a specialty contractor. During his tenure, the company grew from $10 million to $80 million in revenues and added three subsidiary operations. Steve implemented the buyout of the first-generation shareholders and added new shareholders for a third-generation continuity plan. He ultimately spearheaded a private-equity recapitalization, unlocking previously untapped value.

Steve was responsible for implementing strategic planning and performance-based compensation plans. He has experienced both management succession and leadership transition from the perspectives of a minority and a majority stockholder. He also served as the vice president of finance and as a project manager, responsible for work acquisition and management. Prior to that, Steve served in varying capacities in the finance and accounting field. He has been a speaker and panelist at numerous meetings and conferences from technical seminars on construction techniques to investor meetings with private equity groups and financial institutions.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Accountancy from Virginia Tech. He serves on various boards and advisory boards of directors of construction, banking, health care and nonprofit organizations.
