Rick Dutmer is a managing director with FMI Capital Advisors, Inc., FMI Corporation's registered Investment Banking subsidiary. As a long-time member of the FMI team, Rick has held a variety of positions, including Consulting Group director and managing director of the FMI Research Services Group. In his role as principal in FMI Capital Advisors, Rick works with his clients to execute mergers, acquisitions, sales and divestitures as well as internal stock transfers and continuity planning. Since 1988, Rick has worked with a variety of general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects and owners. With Rick's background of working in all of FMI's businesses, he has a unique ability to assess client needs and to offer the full range of FMI solutions. As a sought-after speaker, Rick has worked with the AGC, ABC, NECA, MCAA and many other national and international organizations. Rick's speaking style is dynamic, and he emphasizes the need to understand the playing field when making strategic decisions about growing or selling a business. His articles and quotes have appeared in Building Design & Construction, Civil Engineering, The Construction Specifier, The Builder, Construction Dimensions, Foundation Drilling, Daily Pacific Builder and other publications. Rick earned a bachelor of business administration in marketing from Iowa State University and a master of business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is also a committee member with the Beavers organization and an active member of FMI's Low Bidders Group. |
