What is Coaching Advantage?
Coaching Advantage is a one-on-one partnership between you and
your FMI professional coach to meet your specialized needs and goals. You work
with our coaches to customize your coaching program to address your specific
work concerns and challenges. Our FMI coaches bring with them the specialized
knowledge we have gained from 50 years of management consulting to the construction
industry.
We strive to provide professional coaching that is:
Because we know the business.
Please note that FMIs professional coaches build coaching relationships to support our clients tangible goals and objectives. The coaching relationship should, in no way be construed as psychological counseling or any other type of therapy.

Orientation
An FMI representative will provide you with detailed information regarding the
coaching process, answer any questions you may have, and assure your comfort
with the program. They will then work with you to examine your overall coaching
goals, and match you with the optimal coach to meet your individual needs.
Assessment
Your FMI coach will contact you for an initial one-on-one telephone meeting.
The purpose of this meeting is to ensure there is good client/coach rapport,
identify the major issues, and clarify the key objectives for the coaching sessions.
In addition, you will complete some formal assessments, which will allow you
and your coach to identify the unique strengths and skills you possess. (Please
note that if you have attended FMI's Leadership Institute, those assessments
will be used in your coaching development plan.)
Coaching
Coaching sessions will proceed according to the objectives and schedule determined
by you and your coach. Each coaching session will last approximately one hour
in length. There may be additional times when you and your coach will talk or
e-mail briefly between sessions to clarify a process or address particular situations.
Evaluation
After three months of coaching, your FMI representative will contact you to
ask you to evaluate your experience and confirm the coaching relationship is
beneficial. If you are experiencing any dissatisfaction, we will work with you
to make adjustments, address your concerns, and ensure your coaching encounter
provides value.
Final Review
After six months of coaching, your FMI professional coach will conclude your
coaching sessions and your FMI representative will contact you for a final evaluation.
If, at any time, you have an interest in further coaching, we will continue
to work with you to meet your individual coaching needs.
Our Commitment
Proper fit between the professional coach and client is very important.
FMI has a number of professional coaches on staff to meet the precise needs
of individuals. A sense of trust, respect, and the ability to connect
are fundamental to an effective coaching relationship. FMI makes every effort
to ensure that a good match is made between professional coach and client. If
ever needed, both the professional coach and the client have the option to be
reassigned to create a more cohesive fit to ensure effectiveness.
FMI believes that this investment in your future and your companys future will pay dividends repeatedly. While the client enters into the coaching relationship with the understanding that he/she is responsible for creating his/her own results, we are confident that your interaction with a FMI professional coach will greatly enhance your leadership capability.
