A successful strategic-planning engagement begins with thorough pre-planning
research. The FMI Strategy Builder® process includes in-depth interviews
with potential planning team participants to assess the internal strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for your company. The information gathered
from the interviews is aggregated and compiled for presentation in the planning
sessions.
FMI consultants will review any current research you have gathered on the markets you serve and your competitive position. FMI's Marketing Information Group can conduct any necessary research needed to fill the information gaps. External analysis should be based on current information of customer perception, strengths and weaknesses of competitors, and economic profiles of the markets you serve or intend to serve. Ideally, this will be hard data and not just anecdotes.
