John Hughes serves as manager of the Manufacturer/Supplier Market Sector at FMI, management consultants to the engineering and construction industry. He is responsible for client development and the management of projects involving consulting, research and training in this market sector. Clients include national manufacturers of construction products and equipment, distributors, retailers, private equity firms, labor organizations, trade associations and industry suppliers.
John is involved with strategy development and implementation, channel assessment and customer development, organizational development and training, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has experience with a variety of market information and research projects, such as competitive analyses, image surveys, market share studies, buying-practice analyses and market forecasts. John is active in providing training programs for industry groups and suppliers. He works with firms to create customized training solutions to meet specific client needs, and he manages projects involving training needs analyses, program design and development, and implementation through a variety of delivery systems.
John's clients include Johns Manville, Butler Manufacturing, Carlyle Group, Johnson Controls, Dow Chemical, The New Horizons Foundation, AISI, PCA, DuPont, SMACNA and Robert Bosch.
In his experience with FMI, John has been responsible for developing, managing and marketing the firm's seminar programs; managing the educational services provided to contractors and trade associations; managing FMI's market research efforts; and developing products. John received a degree in economics from North Carolina State University.
