Terry D. Gray
As managing director of FMI's Risk Management Consulting practice, Terry's focus is to elevate risk management capabilities of the construction industry's leading firms. The practice provides risk management, insurance and safety services, assisting clients to "de-risk" their business, create competitive advantages and add value to their business.
With more than 25 years of experience in insurance, risk management and finance, Terry has demonstrated success utilizing an entrepreneurial approach to grow businesses and develop new products and solutions. He possesses significant executive leadership skills and has led operations in both global and national environments.
Most recently, Terry was with Zurich Insurance as the leader of Zurich's Global Construction practice and was responsible for developing and overseeing its worldwide construction business. He provided leadership and a global strategic focus, including a consistent value proposition and organizational support that positioned Zurich as the recognized global leader in providing creative risk solutions for the construction industry.
Prior to his global role, Terry served as president of Zurich North America's Construction business, where he had the overall responsibility for leading the business, including the establishment of strategic direction, management of the four construction profit centers, and oversight of field operations. He was responsible for providing leadership and guidance to a dedicated construction team of more than 600 underwriting, risk engineering and claims professionals. Terry was instrumental in developing and promoting Zurich's Construction specialty products and services, including its Subguard® product.
Terry received his bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Maine.
