Steps Toward Effective Training

1.  Team Performance Analysis—During this phase, the FMI team will work with you and your management team to identify the needs for each target audience, compile them and translate them into a comprehensive training program. This will include the clarification of certain key position descriptions for the priority target learners and validation with a representative team of managers
2.  Program Design—Armed with the results of the Training Needs Assessment, we will work with you to match course content with the needs of the target groups. We will focus on existing content, either yours or FMI programs, to be used "off-the-shelf" or restructured for your applications.
3. Custom Development—Once we have established the modular outlines, we will work with your management team to tailor the content of your existing course materials or FMI program content to reinforce the company culture and methods of efficiently managing the projects. In most cases, this will result in tailored exercises and activities rather than wholesale creation of new material

4. Program Delivery—We will have three different options for program delivery:

  • Certain finished course modules may be presented by experienced FMI consultants.
  • They may be delivered in a "team-teaching" format jointly with the FMI instructor and your internal subject-matter experts.
  • You may identify several internal subject-matter experts who will deliver selected modules after completing a comprehensive Train-the-Trainer workshop series.
5. Reinforcement and Implementation Workshops—We will also work with the team to develop follow-up tools and hands-on workshops to facilitate the smooth transition from the classroom to the job. This is a critical phase to the training process that can be integrated with your ongoing mentoring and coaching activities to build superior performance.
