Tools, techniques, and training on all the hot button issues facing the construction industry
Raleigh, N.C., November 2, 2010 – Hank Harris, President and CEO of FMI, the largest provider of management consulting, investment banking and research to the engineering and construction industry, will participate as a keynote speaker at the 22nd Annual American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) National Construction Industry Conference on December 2-3, 2010 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mr. Harris will provide an overview of the current and future state of the construction industry. The session, entitled “The Future of the Construction Industry,” will present the underlying forces and trends that are working to impact the industry moving forward.
This year’s AICPA National Construction Industry Conference focuses on the tools, techniques and training on all the hot button issues facing the construction industry. Attendees will build a solid foundation of expertise, with new ideas and value-added services to offer clients. New accounting and financial reporting standards, taxation issues for large and small contractors, and heightened awareness on sustainability initiatives and green building increase the complexity for those CPAs servicing construction industry clients.
The conference, which is geared toward CPAs in public practice with construction clients, as well as industry CEOs, CFOs, controllers, attorneys, surety underwriters, bankers, contractors and other construction industry specialists, covers a number of industry “hot topics,” including:
- Cash Flow for Contractors
- Federal Government Contracting
- Tax Benefits of Green Building
- A&A in Tough Economic Times
Two pre-conference workshops are offered on December 1: the Construction Accounting and Auditing Workshop and the Construction Taxation Workshop.
