Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 8, 2011 – FMI Capital Advisors, an investment banking firm focused solely on the engineering and construction industry, is pleased to announce that Colin Myer has joined the firm’s Raleigh office where he is providing placement and advisory services associated with infrastructure investment. With the addition of Myer, FMI Capital Advisors has strengthened its Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) team, adding expertise in this emerging public-project-partnership arena.
“The P3 model of structuring infrastructure deals is not as well known in the United States as it is in other countries. However, as state and local governments in this country increasingly turn to the private sector for involvement in infrastructure development and financing, FMI has recognized that P3 is an evolving opportunity for companies in the construction and engineering industry,” noted Myer. “I look forward to assisting our clients originate and close transactions in this field in the coming years.”
Myer arrived at FMI from 42 North, a Boston based private placement firm where he originated and placed project financings for a variety of industries ranging from energy to municipalities. He has closed over 100 transactions with a combined asset value in excess of $6 billion in his career. Prior to 42 North, he worked for Koch Industries’ Capital Services group where he structured an early stage, toll-road investment. FMI is a member of the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, which advocates and facilitates the formation of public-private partnerships at the federal, state and local levels, where appropriate.
“This represents a new effort by FMI to serve the E&C Industry. We believe that FMI can bring our industry knowledge and relationships together with financial sources to create innovative project financing solutions using the PPP model,” noted Will Hill, managing director of FMI Capital Advisors.
